Asynchronous
The workshop does not make rigid demands on participants' schedules because it is entirely asynchronous.
There are no scheduled meeting times when learners must all be online together. The workshop is self-paced, so participants are able to learn in "bite size" pieces with no significant blocks of time required. However, the workshop does demand that all participants keep up with weekly assigned activities.
Participants advance through the workshop together in a virtual online study group of 25 individuals.
It is not essential that all participants share the same professional position. Teachers, administrators, and other staff members may collaborate within the same workshop group. However, it is critical that all participants work through the workshop activities at approximately the same pace. If participants are asked to share their opinion on a certain topic, for example, it won't be possible for the group to benefit if some participants are not on track. The success (and part of the fun) of this workshop depends on participants collaborating with one another.
