An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a number assigned to your computer when you surf the Internet. Servers scattered around the world uses these addresses to direct your Web browsers. While an IP address can be associated with an individual computer, the IP address does NOT automatically identify the name of the computer's user or its purchaser. In fact, it is standard practice in most school districts that the IP address shows only the schools' network address, and not the individual computer. The server that hosts this site is capable of identifying and storing the IP addresses of visitors to the site as well as the IP address from which they came to the site. The CyberSmart! Education Company is unable to link the school district IP addresses to anything personally identifiable about you, so you can and will remain anonymous to us. We use these IP addresses for the purposes of system administration and looking at overall aggregate site usage and will not provide them, or data associated with them, to outside parties, including advertisers, unless required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with the legal process, or (ii) respond to claims of a violation of the rights of third parties.
Our Commitment to Data Security
To prevent unauthorized access, the server that hosts this site has put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure any information we collect online. As you know, there have in the past been incidents where third parties unlawfully intercept transmissions and abuse or misuse your private identity information. Although we work very, very hard to protect the privacy of your name and email address to anyone outside the 15-30 learners in your class, our CyberSmart administrators and course facilitators, we cannot and do not ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you trasmit information at your own risk.
